Request for vector help - tired of being an idiot
« on: May 06, 2006, 07:28:14 am »
OK.  So I've made a modification to a Tempest cabinet and want to add some really simple artwork to the new piece.  If I knew how to point to the thread I would, but this is another example of my retardedness.  So if you want to see what I'm talking about you can find it in the Main board.

Anyway, I've scanned the mock up piece and tried to do a simple vector that I can print on self adhesive laminate.  At least it's probably simple for people who know what they are doing, which every time I think that person is me, I'm prove myself wrong.   :banghead:All I need is the red line and the black part.  Since I'll be printing this on white stock, I can trim it to match the exact outline of the cabinet.

Can someone help?
Otherwise, I'm going to pull out my paint/crayons/pens and do it that way.  Talk about ghetto.
Thanks,
Derv

Dervacumen,
Here it is!

I adjusted the bottom right and made sure the top and bottom were aligned.
Let me know if this works for ya.

NOTE: The .txt file is an .ai file, just change the extension.

HOLY %$^ BATMAN!  This is very, very cool of you BobbyG66.  I can't wait to get home, size it to exactly the right dimensions, print a couple of trial pieces on paper and make minor adjustments.   Seriously, I've spent like 20-30 hours trying do simple vector tracing but for some reason my mind just won't cooperate.  I'm going to keep working at it, though.  I just found that my lack of art skill has delayed my project for like 2 1/2 months.
I can't wait to get it looking perfect and then get it printed on self adhesive vinyl!
I'll post the final results here for anyone interested.
