MameMarquees: How long? *Resolved*
« on: November 24, 2005, 12:56:12 pm »
How long does MameMarquees take to fulfill an order?

It hasn't been long since I put my order in, but my emails have gone ignored.

This seems to be a trend these days.

Hey
I can not recall how long it took for my artwork to arrive, however I found their service to be excellent! I noticed a minor flaw in one spot and they resent it all for free!

Thanks

Oh I don't doubt they are prompt people. Im just ranting cuz my emails get zapped before reaching them and it doesn't seem to matter what email address I use!   :P

Anyways, Scott just emailed me. Orders take a few days.

Apparently this is a busy time for him. It didn't occur to me that Xmas time would be a busy time for a printing company. DUH!! Me st00pid!

Sounds like you've resolved your ETA question, so mebbe a bit late for me to chime in but....

In my experience Scott at Mamemarquees is extraordinarily conscientious about color matching and image quality. He will spend huge amounts of time calibrating profiles and tweaking until everything comes out as good as possible.

This process can be extremely tedious, I would imagine this would be especially true since the files he gets come from all over the place (from the standpoint of platform, color gamut, applications used to create the art etc...). Color shifting from display to print is inevitable, especially in the luminant blues that are so popular in this hobby, so I'm sure Scott has a lot more work to do than select a profile and hit print.

In other words, I'm sure he's busy. But it's all worth the wait. I just got some of my project artwork back from mamemarquees and I am absolutely floored by the quality.

Yes, Pixelhugger, Scott mentioned that YOU have really done some great work pushing the limits of color with his equipment!  ;)

My order's done. Apparently Scott spends a bit too much in getting it right for us, in the end he's barely making a profit, if any! (I felt bad to hear that).

You know that cabinet image up there is just Photoshop right? I haven't ordered/designed a marquee yet.

Yes RayB.... looks like my obscure sarcastic dig at your fantastic mocked Sideart vs the Please-Don't 'Mame' marquee was quite lame.   Back in my box! :-\
