Converting a Street Fighter Arcade to Ninja Turtles
« on: October 20, 2005, 08:33:40 pm »
I have a street fighter II arcade currently, but I just bought a turtles board to switch it out just for a change. I just swapped the boards out and it works fine, except I can only get one player (both coin slots count towards player one). Would I have to re-wire the jamma harness to get two players?

I could be wrong about this, but the problem could be that street fighter did not make a difference as to which slot the coin was placed in, you could put your coin in slot one or two, and it could be used for either player, and TMNT cabinet was deticated coin slots and players (if you put the coin in slot one, you could only be player one - Leo and you could only play leo on joystick one; and then slot 2 =player 2 which is mike on joystick 2...same for coin slot three and four respectively)

your cabinet may just have wired both coin slots as just one switch...but thats just my guess. I think it should be not toohard of a fix.

yea I think that might be true. Setting it to free play should solve the problem huh? Cept I can't get it to work, these are the switches:

DIP SWITCH NO. 1 SETTINGS
1. COIN SWITCH NO. 1 SETTINGS

SW     1      2      3      4     COIN   PLAY
O     OFF    OFF    OFF    OFF   1      1
ON     OFF    OFF    OFF   1      2
OFF    ON     OFF    OFF   1      3
ON     ON     OFF    OFF   1      4
OFF    OFF    ON     OFF   1      5
ON     OFF    ON     OFF   1      6
OFF    ON     ON     OFF   1      7
ON     ON     ON     OFF   2      1
OFF    OFF    OFF    ON    2      3
ON     OFF    OFF    ON    2      5
OFF    ON     OFF    ON    3      1
ON     ON     OFF    ON    3      2
OFF    OFF    ON     ON    3      4
ON     OFF    ON     ON    4      1
OFF    ON     ON     ON    4      3
ON     ON     ON     ON    Free Play

1. COIN SWITCH NO. 2 SETTINGS
SW     5      6      7      8     COIN   PLAY
O      OFF    OFF    OFF    OFF   1      1
ON     OFF    OFF    OFF   1      2
OFF    ON     OFF    OFF   1      3
ON     ON     OFF    OFF   1      4
OFF    OFF    ON     OFF   1      5
ON     OFF    ON     OFF   1      6
OFF    ON     ON     OFF   1      7
ON     ON     ON     OFF   2      1
OFF    OFF    OFF    ON    2      3
ON     OFF    OFF    ON    2      5
OFF    ON     OFF    ON    3      1
ON     ON     OFF    ON    3      2
OFF    OFF    ON     ON    3      4
ON     OFF    ON     ON    4      1
OFF    ON     ON     ON    4      3
       ON     ON     ON     ON    Void

When I turn the first 4 switches on and keep the 5-8 off, nothing happens. It still says "insert coin", does anyone have this board? I would imagine it should say "free play" or something on the bottom when its turned on.

Why would you turn 5-8 off?  It seems to me by that chart you displayed you'd have them all on, to 'void'.

Could be.  Did you try test mode? Some test modes display the dipswitch settings.

By the way, you are talking about the Turtles board or SF2? If Turtles, did you buy a 2-player Turtles board or the 4 player one?
NO MORE!!

OK and you can't tep through to the other test? (usually you can, by pressing a certain button. it takes you to other tests)

Also where did you get the dipwitch diagram? Are you sure you got the one for the 4-player board?
