Most things cost more in Japan, especially fruit for some reason (probably import tax, they like to keep things 'made in Japan'). I have a friend in Tokyo who treats himself to a $5 banana once in a while.

I'm willing to chalk up the hostility in HI ALL to a combination of:

A) Miscommunication that's inherent in a text-only medium.

and

B) The fact that a newcomer would have no way of knowing that most of the poo-slinging here is entirely good natured. We are[/i] pretty ruthless to each other after all.

So I'll be the dove of peace or at least the pigeon of forgiveness and suggest that we let Hawk start fresh. I did promise to try and be nicer to newbs recently.

re: square watermelons, I actually think that's a great idea, but for a different reason. I've tried a few times to grow watermelons, but deer or something always eat them before they get very big. Next time I'm building a plexiglass box to put them in to protect them from the varmits.
