Author Topic: Okay, if you don't stop calling I'm going to kick your ass for a whole hour (Read 6632 times)

So, it's a very hectic work day. I have requests for support coming in from all directions, and one major project saying it needs continuous support all weekend. I have a protest in to management about 3 levels above me, and they are supporting me pretty well, but I'll still probably have to do some of the work. I'm in a very hasty process of getting set up with a laptop and remote high speed access before I go home so I don't have to be in the office all weekend, especially after having worked late all week on other projcts, even having my kids with me wednesday night.

And through it all, some jackoff from NJ keeps calling me and insisting I am the apartment manager of the complex where his daughter lives. He insists I am intentionally screwing his daughter over in an attempt to evict her and is implying I am doing it because she wouldn't have sex with me. He will not accept that he has the wrong number. I have told him that this is CVS Corporate headquarters in Rhode Island and that he is going to have me fired from my job as apartment manager, he is going to file a restraining order against me to keep me away from his daughter, and he may drive up here and kick ---my bottom--- if I don't start cooperating.

It would be funny if it were a slower day.

Better to be cold than to be hot. I've never been in an office that was too cold. Unless it was a refrigerated warehouse dispatch office. THAT was cold.

I keep a jacket in my office for just such occasions. It's best to not say anything to the old ladies, they get very cranky when you suggest that it's a little chilly in here.

What I don't understand is why I'm sorry sir, you have reached CVS Corporate headquarters in Rhode Island. I am not in New Jersey, I don't know what your situation is, but I am certain it has nothing to do with CVS business. You have the wrong number doesn't sway him. He keeps calling back.

Dude, you have the wrong freakin number, stop calling here, I have work to do and you're ticking me off didn't do it either.

Getting my voicemail, which gives computer generated prompts indicating that this is CVS, did nothing to sway him. I was away from my desk for a while and came back to three messages from him about how I had better stop jerking him around.

I called that here in Ottawa and got a guys voicemail. He says "Sorrry, Jenny doesn't live here", with the song from the music going in the background.

Chad can't you at least hand the phone to a supervisor to try and let him talk some sence into the guy. If not tell him to meet you at some town mid way between RI and NJ to discuss the matters. Then see if he calls on Monday to complain about you not showing up.

I'm thinking there is plenty of opportunity here to really have some fun with this. I can appreciate you are busy, but it's not fair to hog all the fun for yourself.

Perhaps you could tell him that in the modern age the best thing for him to do is to contact the company president support office directly through the internet. At this site:

Explain to him that he'll have to register himself first but it's well worth it because there are hundreds of highly qualified staff members online 24 hours per day which could surely help him through these problems. After all everyone here at "CVS Corporate headquarters in Rhode Island" wants nothing less than 100% total customer satisfaction....
