My taito inspired cab
« on: August 31, 2006, 12:14:37 pm »
Starting planing stages of a classic Mame cab. Here are some plans that I have drawn up.
I will be using the multicade cp from arcadeshop. It is for midway galaga/ms pac-man cab but I didn't want to go with that style. I still debate on how to orientate the monitor or what type of monitor I am going to use.

The cab I am finishing now is loosely based around a Taito. Be very careful about your monitor angle and depth of cabinet. When I was still doing the vertical set up the monitor went 1 in. beyond the back of the cabinet (1 3/4 too far). When I decided to go Hoz. this resolved it's self. LINK

Also if you go too vert, over time stuff can fall on the guns and shorten the life of your monitor.

Re: My taito inspired cab with 3d render

Here is a 3d render of what it will look like.  Nothing fancy just used google sketch . I have found I am an ok artist with paper pencil but I am useless when it comes to artwork using a computer.

As far as monitor type and orientation, I think  I will go with a LCD so that I can easily rotate horz. and vert.

Here is the more laid down look. It would only be vertical with an arcade monitor.

Hi KDOG.
A few months ago I build from scratch a Taito based cab.
I modified the sizes from the rear of the back and the wide.
Here's a link of all the construction.
I think that may help you.

And this is all the original Post, with all the info:

BTW...the page is in Spanish.:P

Cheers.

Here is basically what I  am looking for in as far as artwork. I will later get one of the talented people in on the board to help me tweak it better.
