Help with Cowgill's Multipac emulator??
« on: January 07, 2003, 02:27:34 am »
I managed to get Cowgill's Multipac emulator running on my old 133 mHz PC and was wondering if anyone knew how I could rotate the screen output?  I would like to build a cabinet and have the PC monitor turned on its side and have the games run 'sideways' similar to the way ArcadeOS allows the games to be run in a rotated fashion.  Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how I can accomplish this??  Is there a program I can load before going into the emulator to rotate the screen?  Or will I have to tinker with the emulator code?  Or perhaps this option already exists and I'm just a craphead and don't know about it??

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Oooops, I guess the emulator was not by Cowgill..  but rather an emulation by Silvius of the Multipac kit.  Sorry bout that.

Apparently the Multipac emulator is based on an older version of mame.  You could try the emulator with the mame switch to rotate the display to see if that feature was kept in the emulator.  If not the only thing that comes to mind is MisFit MAME which runs all versions of Cowgill's multipac and many other pacman variants as well.

Btw if you are running multi-pac for speed issues then don't bother.  As bob said it's based on mame and thus runs just as well as an old version of mame will.

Glad that worked.  If it works in command line mode then arcadeos should also be able to control the rotation as it passes the info about rotation to mame.
