Help with a Driver
« on: January 21, 2003, 10:31:16 am »
I'm stuck at a point in my new project, if anyone can help me out here it would be greatly appreciated.

I am doing a touchscreen jukebox for my next project as my arcade cabinet is finished.  I'm trying to do this on the cheap (aren't we all) which always leads to problems.  I got a 14" touchscreen monitor off of Ebay that did not have the drivers, thinking it would be easy to find on the net.  Of course, no suck luck.

The monitor is branded Liberty, and on the front says Mazellan 401A  and on the back is Model# E14BL.  From what I can tell, Liberty Monitors is no longer in business.  Furthermore, the Mazellan 401a branding matches up with a Hansol monitor model #.

From what I can tell, Liberty probably took the Hansol monitors, added the touchscreen functionality, and rebranded and sold them under their name.

I've googled my mind out, tried many of the driver databases on the web, and struck out.  Any other ideas out there from the forum would be greatly appreciated.  Are there other ways I can do this?  Could I set the touchscreen up as a generic serial mouse?  Would other drivers work?

Thanks for any and all help.  I'm using the Virtual Jukebox software and it is a great solution, i'd really like to get this up and running.

Thanks again, Andy

What kind of connector does your touchscreen have?  There is always the possibility that it mimics a mouse with the controller logic and a driver would not be needed.  If it has a nonstandard connector then you might have a much greater problem sorting out what it needs.
