TurboC--:
I know about the feature differences like more powerful 3D etc, I was wondering more about stability. If any users had reported more or less stability problems with either one.

OK I'll give my opinion on them, I have 3 mame cabinets, with 2 running the ArcadeVGA cards one with the new version and the other witht he old version. Both setups are exactly the same, including operating systems. I don't play any 3D games on my setups, only old style arcade games. I have found that the old version of the card is much better suited for running these type games. It is easier to install and is more reliable. I had to return 2 of the new cards under warranty, both died within a week >:( I tend to only play the cabinet with the old card version in it and let friends/visitors play the other one as I think that graphic's and colours are slightly more accurate. I've even tried switching the setups around in the cabinets and it has made no diference.

The new card is better in several respects, not least that it handles overlay and MPEG correctly. There should not be any difference in the colours but the voltage outputs on the new card are slightly higher. ATI cards have historically output unusually low level RGB signals and they upped the level on the later chipsets. This might mean comparing like-for-like without adjusting the monitor might look different.
As has been mentioned the later chipset is generally faster. Memory speed is faster on the later card as well.
I am interested in the post above because I can only recall ever receiving one ArcadeVGA card back which has failed in use, that is since the card was launched. So I am slightly mystified about this.
