Super Dodge Ball! (BUGGY?)
MaximRecoil:
Yeah, the arcade only had two buttons, and you pressed them both together to jump. That was one of my favorite games in the arcade when I was a kid and I could play it for a long time; cycling through all the screens several times.
There was an annoying bug when I first tried it in MAME (back around MAME .61) but it has since been fixed, thankfully. The throw/catch button was stuck in some sort of "autofire" mode and so if you held the button down to catch a ball thrown at you, after catching the ball it would immediately throw it without giving you time to decide what you want to do with it. Of course, this wasn't correct. In the arcade, you had to release the button and press it again to throw. It was fixed some time around MAME .74 or so I believe.

Can someone please verify whether Super Dodge Ball (spdodgeb.zip) should be working in V81 for me?
Also, there is another (clone? of) Super Dodge Ball which is named "sdodgeb.zip" but I can not find the actual game name to activate it within Mame32 GUI. There is only one game called "Super Dodge Ball" in the game list. I looked in the "Not Working" and "Clone" lists as well, but can not find the title. Which ZIP file are you getting your Super Dodge Ball to work?
Lilwolf:
btw, it didn't sound like how you setup a 3rd button for both was properly answered above.
Assuming button 1 = Z, button 2 is X and button 3 is C (look at keyboard for why)
in mame key config...
moved to player 1 button 1
select
press Z
select
press C
Now button 1 will say Z or C
then move to player 1 button 2
select
press X
select
press C
Now button 2 will say X or C
Now if you press C it will press both button 1 and button 2.
Press Z and only button1
Press X and only button2
I do this for a few games on my ngage since the controls are already an issue and it can be hard to hit 1 and 2 at exactly the same time on those small buttons

The other Dodge Ball file is a Neo Geo game. You need to have the Neo Geo BIOS roms to use it.
MadHat:
What problems are you having? Does it even run? (It should still run and show a menu even if it's all misconfigured)
What I did was first make sure all paths in the CFG file are set up. I did it the easy way and included the full path names (ie: "c:\arcade\mame\roms\" )
Next thing is to use the GameLauncherTool to create a proper list of your roms...
