Update paige!

How is the new beast going?

New car works just fine, its at the shop at the moment though, getting the broken exhaust pipe fixed (it came that way).

Exhaust is about the only thing I won't be able to do to that thing myself, everything else I can do myself. Its very roomy under the hood, due to the TINY engine, and everything is light and small, apparently the engine is even light enough for the average guy to swap one without an engine hoist.

I reckon we all team together and Pimp paige's ride.

paige, I know you don't watch TV, but this is a show where some brilliant dudes go to work on your car and turn it into something very special.

A racing stripe, nitro kit and a supercharger would be a fine place to start....

I have heard of it.

I'd personally prefer a repaint, new chrome wheels (stock size), all new super duper interior, new radio, and a complete chroming of the engine. I'd prefer to keep the outside pretty much stock.

Of course I am not going on pimp my ride, so it isn't getting much of anything.

I wish someone would pimp the rust out of my Kombi. That would be way sweet....

Wish I had the balls to buy a used car.  I want to get a CJ style jeep for summer quick trips to the store, and I want a cadillac convertible, 1970's style, for big style cruisin.

I've never bought anything used, and it's starting to get to me paying so much for new/worthless cars.

I was always the opposite... not enough balls to buy a new car, so I always bought used.  Car after car after car I'd get the Consumer Reports guide, do my research, pick out a car with a great reliability record, only to have it die way before I was done paying for it.

I finally got over that this last one and bought a NEW car.  Forget used cars for me, won't happen again for anything other than a short term tossout.

Highly desirable car. Be prepared to pay real money for one of those.

I love the big 70s caddy convertibles, but at the same time I think they are overpriced for what you are getting.

Yeah, I keep my eye out for a good local deal, but I look a lot less than a 4 player jamma cab around here.   ;D

I would eventually like to make my backup vehicle something old like that (both so I can get the cheaper limited-use insurance, and so my spare car won't lose value while sitting).

But my Suburban will be rusted out in a few more years, but will still have a strong drivetrain that I could swap into something old.

Swap it into the motorhome!

Don't feel like getting into the Metro, or getting out of bed, drive the home to work!

The motorhome has a larger, stronger and lower mileage drivetrain than the Burb.

Actually I should just part the motorhome out and drop that low mileage 440 big block into a Duster or something.n ;D
