For whatever reason I think that's just pretty darn neat. maybe it's because I can relate to the whole jar full of fireflies thing.

my kids have been collecting fireflies every night this summer.......

why would you want fireflies during the day?

As a kid in NS, it was so freakin dark at night you couldn't walk the road without fear of going into the ditch.  We would have fireflies, though, hundreds of them on any given night.

Same deal out where I live. On a moonless night you can't see your hand in front of your face. Tons of fireflies though. This summer seems to have produced an unusually high number of 'em.

Are ther no fireflies in florida?    When I lived in Indiana there were plenty.  We called them lightning bugs.
