RoM
I've only been doing this for a week, but so far it's been kicking my butt. After the first time I did it I wanted to cry. I'm not kidding, I really was in that much pain. I still get winded from this and since it's always matching my strength I haven't been able to get use to it, like I do with free weights and running.
I'll let you know after the 30 days trail is over, but so far, this is better than having a new car.
32 inch waist line here I come.
If this thing does what it says then everything I have read over the last ten years about fitness is wrong. I've read a lot of the popular stuff and took 2 college classes in the mid/late 90's. It appears to me to be a total scam. They are looking to take people who do no exercise and then give them some exercise. In thirty days they then lose weight.
They have that comparison
"4 minute cross-training on the ROM:
First again a list of the results (cardio, muscle, flexibility) from a single 4 minute ROM exercise:
1. The results are equal to those of 20 to 45 minutes aerobic exercises for conditioning of the cardio-vascular and respiratory system.
2. The results are equal to those of 20 to 45 minutes resistance training for muscle toning and strength of all the body's major muscle groups.
3. The results are equal to those of 20 minutes of conventional stretching exercises for flexibility of all major muscles, tendons and joints.
Overall evaluation: Extremely time efficient. Requires only a few minutes of initial instruction. Non-impact exercise. Total cross-training in 4 minutes per day. "
I would love to see how this machine stacks up against someone swimming laps for 45 minutes. They claim it's just as good. Alos in terms of soreness, try sprinting until simply can't go on. It takes well less than four minutes for most of us, but the soreness would be greater than a solid cardio workout with a constant target heart rate. At least that's how it is for me.
So I basicaly don't buy it at all. But I do think this could be a great kick start for a long term health plan. Just be sure and get that thing back before that bill hits. Funny side note, they are on one of my cross streets. Okay not funny, but I put it anyway.
