projection question

Hello,

I recently purchased a megalo 410, that has just enough screen burn, to be annoying.  Can this be fixed, by myself or will I require a professional, and around how much would this procedure cost.  Any information or suggestions on how to get rid of the screen burn is appreciated.

I've never seen anything about "fixing" screen burn, but I've seen others who use smoked or tinted glass in front of it to hide it.....

Burn in on the image indicates that the CRT inside your projection unit is burned.  This will probably take a TV tech to properly replace.  Is the burn in apparent when displaying games on the unit?  Sometimes the burn in is not as noticable when in use.  Sounds like a great unit.

BobA:  The screen burn is mainly noticeable only when the screen turns white, or a light color.  I picked up the machine on the 24th.  So far, I have the machine stripped down, and have been brushing and vacuming the interior.   I have done some minor monitor repair in the past such as replacing caps, and boards but have never worked on projection.   Other than the screen burn, it is a nice machine.  When using the machine, I guess i'll just have this constant urge to play "metal slug 3".  

JLR2000:  The tinted glass is a good suggestion.  I might have to go that route if I find that repair  is outside of my economic preference.

Thats good that the burnin is only really apparent when the screen is light.   Means that it should not be very noticable when games are being played.  JLR2000s suggestion of tinted glass would probably help out with this and you won't feel like playing metal slug 3 all the time.
