The Final Fantasy concert tour is coming to Fort Worth this Friday, and I've already got my ticket. Has anybody else been? It looks like it's going to be great.

It's basically an orchestral rendition of a selection of Nobuo Uematsu's selections from the FF series.

thats pretty cool, i would consider going if it were near me. Check out the Black Mages, its a link from that page. they redo FF music with a more "heavy" theme, i like the FF7 battle music

I'm going with my brother, and he's taking his girlfriend. She doesn't care about video games, but she's a wannabe sophisticate so she ought to still enjoy the live music.

Today's the day!

It brought up a good question, though. How are you supposed to dress to such an event? It's symphonic (upscale) yet video game (slacker). We're leaving straight from word today, but my brother is all dressed up, and I'm just in whatever. I hope I don't feel out of place!

Well I saw everything from sci-fi convention attire to tuxedos. It looked like there were alot of young girls there in their prom dresses. Wearing a suit would be nice, and you wouldn't be out of place. If I could do it again, I'd wear some dress pants and a nice buttoned shirt.

Most of the people that were dressed up were bringing dates. Most of the "freaks" were solo or in groups. That could bring up a whole bunch of chicken/egg dialog.

If you don't have a tickete yet, here's some advice. I think the level you sit on is less important than how far left/right you're seated (as long as you're not in the nose bleed section). Since it's one of the few concerts with visuals you'll want a clear, straight-on view. Luckily, we had good seats with nothing to worry about. But there were people with more expensive tickets than us that probably had worse views.

I don't think you'll be finding any (legal) clips. Recording devices weren't allowed.

Uematsu was there right? I am really excited. I'm going in my suit, and the girl I'm going with bought a new dress n' accessories. I'm not sure if its a date or not, since we are going dutch, and as friends. But eh, here's to hoping.

No unfortunately he wasn't actually there, but he gives a pre-recorded speech on the video screens.
