If I counted right, I've got 46. The real number should be how many threads you started that ended up in post hell. Lots of times I've even reported threads to be killed even though I already posted in them. So you can be a "good boy" and still end up there.

Actually you have  a couple, I did a search in post hell.  It just isn't in the top 10 boards on the stats page.

If you hve a post in post hell there are two reasons.
1) You posted something against the rules
2) You replied to a thread that was sent to post hell.

I have like 60 some, which wouldn't make sense for a global mod to have that many threads that are against the rules
Many times I reply to a thread that I locked it when it has been reported.  Then I notify an admin to deal with it.  I could send it to post hell but I bet other admins and mods are like me when they get a reported thread.  They follow the email link to the thread, if it comes up not existing you know someone else too care of it so you think no other actions need to take place.
So if I think a user needs taken care of by an admin I just lock the thread and notify the admins.
Or one of the admins or mods got lazy and nixed an entire thread instead of just the offending replies.  Which will happen as it isn't that easy to do if good stuff is mixed inbetween the bad stuff.

But I keep forgetting mods were given a little more power recently.  There's a new user warning feature.  I think so many warnings an automatic ban.  Actually, a mod should be able to ban then too, I have to look.  I haven't played with that feature since it was implemented

I was looking at some people who visit frequently.  I've been on here since day one when the forum software was introduced.  I only have a total of 10 days online here?  Many of you who haven't been on the board for that long beat me.  I wonder what that stat means...  10 days over the last 3.5 years doesn't sound right.

It's possible that there's some incongruities sirpoonga...

especially considering the different variations on SMF/yapbbse this forum has undergone... in older versions stuff might have been moved to post hell , where as now, stuff is probably "deleted" and automagically recycled to "post hell" but that's really a sir woogie question as he may setup byoac different than I setup byopvr.

you should do some tests, deleteing your own posts and seeing what happens =)

I covered that already.  I am talking about ME!  For me it doesn;t matter if it went to post hell or deleted from database.  I can see post hell so those should count in my totals...  Unless there is a board I don't know about that has something I posted my totals should come out and no messages should be "missing".  Remember, i am a moderator and can see all boards, well, I should be seeing all board

I think rampy is right, something probably got lost in one of the many conversions or upgrades.  That or deleting a thread causes it, though someone here tested that already.  I haven't tried it myself.

Nah, nothing hidden for global mods. More than likely this is just something that slipped into the ether through version upgrades or conversions. It is odd though, the forum software is smart enough to recalculate this. Ehh... just not important enough for me to bother figuring it out.

Board changes can cause all sorts of wonkiness.

I AM an admin on the klov.com boards and I can't even edit my own email address in their system due to the multiple upgrades and imports they have gone through.

The forum is up-to-date with counts and stats (it does this automatically every two weeks). This could simply be messages that have been lost over time through conversions or restores. This could have happened well before I arrived on the scene. Going forward I forbid the forum software or restore from eating ANYTHING.

EVERY thread you go back and check will have the same amount of posts attributed to you.  You're missing what they're telling you in trying to find this out. 

Go ahead.....check EVERY thread you've ever posted in.  ALL your post counts will be the same.  It's actually kinda funny that's how you were going about it

FYI for those who don't get how to get the numbers.

To get the numbers:
1) Goto your profile (click profile)
2) Take a note on your "Posts" number.
3) At the bottom of the page click "Show the last posts of this person".
4) Navigate to the last page and note the number
5) Do the math.

For example, right now my Posts says 6007, the number on the last thread is 6017.

Now, for normal users this makes sense if something they posted when to post hell.  I don't think the posts number counts the forums you can't see.  It might though...  I should create a temp user and try this out...
