Bored At Work, Made 4 Slot Generic MVS Headers
« on: June 29, 2005, 04:28:22 pm »
I'm tired of swapping out mini marquees and the original generic MVS headers are REALLY boring in my opinion. So, I decided to do something about it.

This is a small batch of concepts, I'll probably pick from here a temporary solution... comments are welcomed! I have a few more fun things planned down the road for my MVS and other, yet to be determined cabs.

After posting it looks like the message board formats the image slightly smaller. For those who want a little more detail, download it using the image link and view it in your favorite graphics program. I'll probably edit the format later...

108 people have seen this and nobody's commented on it? These look great. Personally I favor the third and fourth ones down (with and without numbers). They're a good balance between being really plain and being overkill.

Baker535, have you decided which one you prefer?
Brevity is not my strong suit.

Hey thanks Crowquill,

Appreciate the input... and yup, you also named the two I favor the most! Good balance of color especially since I have an American MVS 4 slot. Since my cab is dominated by red and black, I agree that having some white space will help. Especially since I am trying to push the unique and recognized theme of the Neo Geo's button colors in the marquee. If I had a plain candy cab with a white shell... I'd be more tempted to go with the bottom designs.

Probably not too much to comment on for most people. This is just basic, clean typography and color to go with my cab. I think I'm about 90% done with it and just need to test a few more minor variations before I create a final print. If I can I will try to post a shot of them in my cab to show how it works in context. I attached a shot of just a bigger single marquee for detail.
