Attention DFW and all surrounding areas....I've been made aware that it's been too long since our last get together.  Well let's fix that.

This is good timing too 'cause we have a bunch of new guys, which is a great thing. 

Let's start posting up some preferences.  Last time we did it on a Saturday.  Had some lunch and went over to Tornado Terry's.  A great arcade in Keller with classics and he is a great supporter of BYOAC wth his parts (and my first cab)

A great afternoon would be Babe's Chicken Dinner House and then all you can play  at Terry's.  Although a burrito and straight to the aracade worked for me last time.  WE'll meet up somewhere for some good discussion, questions, possible answers and good company.  Xcalibur, just make sure you say hi to the guy in the yankees jersey.

Babe's rocks, I mean absolutely kicks --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules--.   I would be down with the Chicken Dinner House but anything is fine.  I think it is more about the company than the consumption.

We like to plan ahead so let me know by at least the Thursday before it goes down!  We are pretty poor at setting dates on the calendar but have a lot of flexibility.

Can't wait to meet all the people I haven't had a chance to meet yet, just let me know!

If my brother comes, though, you gotta play nice. He looks at the whole arcade thing as more of a business than a hobby. He thinks it's cool and all, but he doesn't get into it like we do. What we all might consider just a fun day out, he might consider business networking. He can't help it much, though. That's just the way he is.

Oh, and don't get us confused. We're actually twins.  I think I forgot to mention that part!

Mmmm, speaking of buying.  Are you selling any spare parts there Mark?  At one time I actually thought I had a good collection, but it turns out I am a meager amateur  .

That I know of, eydoc, eavii, flampoo, tmasman, haghore, seanp and chemixtry are also in DFW.  Not sure if NY has sent them PMs as well.

No worries about setting up business links.  How else are we to get our parts/cabinets in the area?  Oh, no worries, we can tell you apart.  You'll be the more geeky one  .

Some were even asking me when i can build them one. One of them asked when I wanted him to come over and help me finish up my cab. I figured he was joking. 2 days ago he asked me again.

I will need some assistance mounting my fluorescent light and figuring out how to mount the marquee...

Get used to the helping others build once they see yours  .  Helping guys on the board is an entirely different matter though  .

The lights are a piece of cake.  Get a 18" under cabinet light from HD or Lowes for about $8 and just stick in in there ($6.99 at Walmart too).  Then get a 12' section of drop ceiling wall angle at HD for a $1.  Spray paint it black and you are good to go.  Cuts easy and is super super cheap.  If you don't want a whole 12' section I can bring some to the meet .  I seem to buy it pretty often.

Coolest things I have in possesion now are the new trans buttons (green and clear) and some leland sticks I just picked up.  seeing the green could help decide if you wanted em, I wanted green any shade so I didn't care.

We need a Statewide meet.  Get all the DFW, Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Corpus BYOACers together.

Corpus was fun, much nicer than I remembered.  I "have to" go to Hawaii on business so it's a beachy month for me.

I was just hanging with Nannu talking about how we should host GTGs at our homes so we can see all of our cabs.  Well, mainly we just wanted to see yours.

we might be moving and getting a place with a proper gameroom so I'll host one for sure then.

I wouldn't mind hosting one some time in the future. My stuff is a mess, though. Mark can vouch for that. I don't have my newest MAME machines completed, either, and I sold my last one when I moved up here a year ago. I should have Arcade Allstars (MAME cocktail) completed by the end of next month and Monolith (massive 27" MAME project) completed by the end of the year.

... so "someday" I'll have the goods, but right now I just have EyeDoc's old Pac Man.

Well a good time was had by all.  We had 4 plus a newbie and prolly got another dozen to sign up when they saw Mark's setup.  I think we have a first, we mamed a booth at a restaurant!

dissecting the 49 way.  Mark's setup is pretty sweet, and he has Floyd's rotary adapter!  We did a little playtesting right there.  I think if we were there any longer people were gonna start lining up their quarters on the railing for next game.

 Terry has TONS of great games (and some with some cool mods like a trans blue ball in a GT).     And he has some "other" games ( the best pic of the day)

Yeah.....I just got a cease and desist letter from Ultracade telling me to stop with my thumbs..... Supposedly he has a trademark pending on it but is currently having problems getting it through because Henry Winkler already has a similar one pending.........

We were on the way when we stopped for gas in Joshua and was carjacked. While we were walking to the police station there in Joshua, we were abducted by aliens.

X, I got a friend that's a cop in Joshua.  I'll gonna tell him your place is a meth lab as punishment for not making it.

Thetered, man we woulda loved to meet ya.  although once we got to the gaming there was little talking until Terry gave us the grand tour.

We got to see his workshop and some games he had in the back, plus we got to see his warehouse down the street.  Mark picked up a nice cab with a HUGE monitor.   we got to see a restoration job Terry was doing on a Defender cocktail...very nice. 


Kinda cool to listen to him talk about all the old games and parts.  I kinda liked hearing about is 69 Camaro too.

and best of all HALF PRICE...all you play for $5!!  not sure why he did that, but just shows what a great guy he is.

I'm 90% sure I'm going and 80% sure I'm taking a couple of machines. I'm afraid I might buy something, though. The point is to get rid of stuff right now, but sometimes I can't help myself. I just hope I don't see something I like.

There is a nice Dice rhyme for that.  They usually have a KI, and they've been getting cheaper and cheaper lately.  In fact, auction prices in general have become much cheaper lately.  Not like the $10 Trons and $5 Star Wars I hear about in other state auctions but a bit cheaper.
