« on: June 10, 2005, 03:43:40 pm »
Which is the best Turbo-Grafx 16 emulator out there?  Also, where can I find command line controls for them a front end that handles them?

Thanks!

You use Magic Engine?  I will try to win a free copy, but $35 for an emu?

Magic Engine is worth it, the emulation is perfect and there is nothing close.

Imagine, the nerve of someone asking for money before they will give you the product of their hard work.

Very true, however $35?  A little steep don't you think? He did not write any of the games...

NoBonus....I am little curious of two things. First what you do for a living and how much you make per hour (don't actually answer). Now how many hundreds of hours do you think he has in the emulator? You get the idea. Second, what have you contributed to the community for free?

jcrouse,
I did not intend this thread as a debate over whether or not I personnaly agree with you or anyone else about charging for emulation,

Imagine, the nerve of someone asking for money before they will give you the product of their hard work.
I always think it's so amusing that we're willing to spend one or two thousand on our cabinets, spend money to get overlays professionally printed, drop a bundle on custom spinners, and then balk at paying for any of the software that's at the heart of the cabinet... "Whaddaya mean StarROMs wants $3.00 for a lousy 25-year old game?"

This is NOT a dig at you, NoBonus... the only think in my cabinet that's paid for is Windows XP, HOTD2 and Crazy Taxi, plust some Capcom ROMs I won on a HanaHo CD.  I just think it's amusing.
