Photoshop CS 2 greyed out filters?
« on: June 12, 2005, 11:59:04 pm »
Hi, I just installed photoshop CS2.  When I tried some filter such as artistic, it is greyed out.  Why cant I use some of these filters?  I can see blur and a few others.  Did I install it incorrectly?

Thanks
John

Hey,

You are probably working in CMYK mode.  Not all filters work in all modes.
Pretty much all filters work in RGB mode.  Convert to RGB and you will be good to go.  Then if you really want it in cmyk you can convert after you've done all your tweaking.

Thank you! I actually had 16 bit RGB. Once I switched back to 8 bit it worked!!!!
Thanks again!!!
