Does anyone have a clue on how to use a program called shellhide that's supposed to keep the windows taskbar hidden,I downloaded it from somewhere but the 1 line instructions were pretty useless to me.

What version of Windows? WinXP's taskbar can be auto-hidden out of the box.

it's xp pro and I know how to autohide the taskbar.problem is I'm trying to hide all traces of windows during startup and shutdown for a cab installation. But even with the taskbar set to auto hide it still shows up for a short while on startup before it disappears.

If youre booting into a frontend, use SHELLon, it automatically takes care of all of that, then this site shows u how to hide the rest:  http://www.upup.us/old/2003_09_01_old.html#106469688462437353 .  Also use the search whenever possible-it helps keep the # of threads down
