hey blackzc, your fanboy is showing.

how bout you back that up with some facts.

for instance the sms is more powerful than the nes. and i think it was out first to boot. which brings up another thing, releas date plays part you cant just say that oine is more powerful than another if one came out a year or two after.

and i think the genesis was still more powerful than the snes as well.

if you mean that you *like* the nintendo version of each generation, well, then see my first sentance. and thats your opinion, fine with me.

I have each system

and  know for a fact that the Super Nintendo Out powers the Genisis...

Super Nintendo: 16bit 8 buttons (SAVE feature) (added chips in games to boost gameplay and extra hardware)

Sega Genissis: 16bit 4 buttons ... (not too sure none of my games save?)

as for the Sega Master system, it came out a year after or the NES,  but was Better than the NES, 3 years before they released the Super Nintendo, which came out 1 year before the genissis I know cause I recieved my Genisis for Christmas one year when i was like 6-7? and my uncle who had his Super NES for a  great while gave me his SNES... Which i have to admit blew the socks off my feet when I had both /compared/, ^.^

Lets face it truth is Nintendo Knew what they were doing with Developing, you never seen a game that compared to Link to the past? or SuperMario World? or how bout Super Metroid? or Even MarioKart? Mario RPG! come on,... all i have that is great on my Sega Genisis is Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic + Knuckles, and sonic 3D blast,
oh and the Co-Op X-men! (great game)... ^.<

in the end i wish my parents would have bought me the SNES instead of Genisis for Christmas Cause Its probly the 2nd most played console ihave... ^.<

Mario RPG RULES!!!!

*Note* almost every system Sega Put out came out a year later than Nintendo,

NES 1985 vs. Sega Master System 1986 (Superior* SegaMaster system)Sold: NES
Gameboy 1988 vs. GameGear 1990     (Superior* gamegear) Sold: Gameboy
SNES 1990 vs. Genisis 1990   (Superior* SNES) Sold: SNES

That's it?  Your argument about which system was more powerful rests solely on the number of buttons on the gamepad?  WTF?  Don't get me wrong Otraotaku, I would take a SNES over a Genesis any day of the week, but what the hell does the number of buttons on a controller have to do with one system out powering another system.

Your "I love Nintendo" posts are kind of obnoxious.  We know you love Nintendo.  Hell, I love Nintendo.  But you treat it like a religion.  If Nintendo does something stupid, like stick with the cartridge format so it can bilk more money from developers, you will just say, "Nintendo works in mysterious ways."

Turn the fanboy down a notch.

Sega released a CD peripheral rather than extending game PCBs to additional chips.  CD peripheral wins.

I remember back in the day Nintendo was talking about releasing a CD add-on for the SNES. It was going to be amazing, but they ended up dumping the idea. The people working on it ended up going to another company and releasing it as a stand-alone console.
What was it called again?
Oh yeah, it was called PlayStation or something like that  :P
Another bad move by Nintendo.

I think you are what you're saying is 100% accurate, Chad, but I don't think you see the bigger picture.  Had Sony not already invested a lot of money for this thing Ken Katarugi would probably not have got the green light from Sony execs to make a console.  In fact, he probably never would have pursued it in the first place.  The development of that CD ROM peripheral for Nintendo was the catalyst that led to the development of the rest of the system.

Sony only took the PlayStation concept away from Nintendo because of some copyright disputes with the CD format. If Nintendo and Sony had of sorted out their differences and gone ahead with the SNES PlayStation CD Drive thing, do you really think Sony would have branched off and developed a stand-alone console? No. Nintendo would still rule the world.

Yes, I believe they would have developed their own once they had one under their belt.  The way things turned out bear that out if you compare the events to contract law.

You can believe the net stories all you want, but they really don't stand up to business law scrutiny the way the story is told.

Until you actually talk to Ken Katarugi, how can we be sure?   :-*
