I actually offended by this, whether it's in good fun or not !!

Why is it when someone pokes fun at any race other than White, we have a problem, a serious problem? Turn around and have a website spewing out trash like that (joking) about White Trash, and then it's supposed to be funny. WHERE's the humor in that?

Unlike the Political Posts, Grid Girls & All Things Non-Arcade related, I thought we placed restrictions on racial content, regardless the point ( humor or serious ).

I am middle-class caucasion American and I am not offended in anyway by the post.  Since the post was derogatory toward low-income caucasion Americans, I guess all the poor white people should be angry?

I am a lower class white American, and most of my family lives in rural areas and many have owned trailers, and I have NO PROBLEM with white trash jokes. It is making fun of a culture, not a race. Even most "racist" humor is actually making fun of the culture and not the race (I am talking about the stuff that is actually funny, NOT "How many (insert minority here) does it take to screw in a light bulb, 6, because they are so stupid"). Matter of fact, a large portion of many black comedians best material is based on poking fun at black culture.

Of course George Carlin tops all those jokes with his observation about it, which I won't repeat her.

I wasn't offended and I'm white.  It's tone was more satiritcal than it was "hey look at people who are diffrent than me".   And seriously - I don't consider "white trash" a race anyway.

EDIT: I should have listened to the "someone posted a new message while you were typing" warning as I ended up parroting Paige.  So I'll add more...   

"White Trash" has nothing to do with living in a rural community or owning a trailer.  I had a family live next door to me and the kids were always unwashed and obnoxious while the parents were being public nuisances.  This is Queens, NY.  The parents are now dead of drug overdoses and the kids are living, seperated from each other, in foster families.  Pretty sad.
