Outdoor Vinyl for Control Panel Overlays?
« on: May 15, 2005, 03:44:56 pm »
I just went to Kinkos to get my CPOs printed today. According to the lady that was "assisting" me, the only vinyl they had was the outdoor bannder vinyl, so I went with it (only $7/sq. ft, and I only have ~1 sq. foot of material ;D). Bad idea? Should I call and ask them to change it? Will it work out alright?

It will work out allright but you better have a plexi glass on top of the artwork to protect the thing. You should get it laminated if you wont have plexiglass top.

Yeah, I got some self-adhesive laminate for it (it's meant to protect photos and other stuff, so I assume it takes hand oils well).

I got it today, and cut it there, but there is this REALLY TINY white edge I'm not sure how to get rid of, but it is noticeable. Any suggestions on how to remove it (too small for a Exacto knife -- I tried)?

Edit: Nevermind. A black sharpie along the edges worked perfectly ;D

WHOAA NELLY!!!

Did she say outdoor vinyl banner.  Better check this is not self adhesive and would be a really bad choice for anything on your cabinet.  It would be just a plastic banner material with no stick to it.

Heh, too late for that :P

It actually doesn't look too bad, tbh. I'm going to be using spray glue to apply it anyways.
