My Cab (85% Complete)
« on: September 27, 2005, 10:38:47 pm »
Here is my cab, not very original....the CP is a Knieval Rip Off, the cab itself is my own design but was derived from 3 different cabs (Lusid, Knieval, and another I can't remember right now).  Still need to add a platform for the monitor, install my spinner, paint, and t-mold.

Here are a few pics

**Edit** Added a few earlier pics in the construction process a few posts down.

Honestly don't know if I am going to name it.  Nothing I think of sounds good to me.

Once this is all done I am going to build a new CP, this one has a few screwups.  The bottom box for the CP is about 3/8" too narrow and interferes with Player 1 Joystick wiring, had to nibble away some of the MDF so the CP would sit center on the box.  Also the CP top rounded corners are too rounded and you can see about 1/2" of the box below ( I could router the corners of the box to fix that).  Also had an error in mounting the joysticks (slightly too big of a hole made), hence the bolts visible on the top of the CP which also resulted in a 1/2" long hairline crack in the plexi one of the bolt holes.

Any trouble reaching the coin door with it so far back?
... arcade builders could someday rule the world...currency would be reduced to quarters only, and wars would be settled

Yeah - the coin door is a bit far back.  It is functional, but it's really there more for looks, I have it wired so that with a flip of a switch I can use the black buttons next to the Player 1 and 2 buttons to be coin 1 and coin 2 buttons.

Update with a few pics.  Used vinyl fabric to cover the cab (more info on that here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=43807.0 )
