I'd be tempted to try it, but I have no idea where to find tinder fungus.

I'm sure anything flammable would work. I'm going to try it but I don't know where I can do it without getting arrested until I go camping.

That's an advantage to living well outside the city limits. Of course I'll probably end up setting myself and my property on fire. Boy come to think of it, I'd better get all the soda and beer cans out of the house before they spontaniously start a fire. Only bottled beer for me from now on. ;)

Get yourself a pile of tinder.

Pour water on it.

Throw it under your front porch, away from sunlight.

Wait.

BYOTF (tinder fungus) ;D

I can see SO many offshoots to this!  Barkeeper's Friend works quicker, even though I know that wasn't the point.

Use birch bark.

Of course you'll need a birch tree...

I actually think I spotted some tinder fungus growing on a tree while I was out fishing yesterday (the above linked website showed me what to look for). But I was fishing and couldn't really have cared less at the time if it was in fact tinder fungus or if it was just some other nasty crud growing on a tree.

I'm trying to figure out which one it actually is.

1)  Your time is so valuable you couldn't be bothered to actually READ the article because you were only a few steps away from finding the cure for flebitis

2)  You're too lazy to click an extra link because there was no mention of pr0n at the other end of that link, and hey, you don't click no sites unless there's pr0n or it directly assists you in some way.

I just learned something about you that words fail to be able to accurately convey the depths of  ::)  Thanks.  Hey, aim high.  Be alert.  The world needs more lerts.
