Voltron Artwork Ideas?
« on: April 23, 2005, 05:09:39 pm »
I am a big fan of Voltron/80's Anime Cartoons and Transformers. I was hoping you geniuses would shout some ideas for artwork. I am pretty savvy on Photoshop, and the plans are for a Cocktail Table, approx 3 x 6 with most of the graphics under the Glass Cover and along each side. Hit me wit yo best shot!  ;D ;)

You should probably make five separate cabinets that can be joined together into one ultra-powerful cabinet...

Unless you're a fan of the first Voltron, in which case good luck building those 30-some mini cabinets.

3 X 6? That is one enormous cocktail.

The reason for a BIG size is because I was it to fit through doors and still have room for 4 players. It will also be the family dining table (which explains the COCKTAIL end of it instead of a full size Cab.

Pat Lee, has done some awesome artwork of the Transformers, I have 2 posters that he did, one of Optimus Prime, the other of Megatron with their respective Decepticon/Autobot insignias behind them.  Also if your going transformers, the only stuff that counts to me, is anything before the movie... Voltron wise, the Lions are the only way to go, and if you can get sculpted lion heads as either the feet of the table, or on sides, by the control panels, that would be awesome... I was never a fan of the car version.  For Voltron you could also go with one side being them all assembled. The other disassembled or the main villains big space ship, what was his name again?  the other thing you may want to consider is with robots you could maybe do some cool LED stuff with their Eyes or something, when you turn on the Cab, where their eyes come to life, and glow.

I have the same 2 posters from Pat Lee. They are awesome. I love your ideas. Obviously the easiest will be the Led Lights. I would love to use the "Key" sequence from the Lions episodes as an opening to turn the machine on first. Maybe I can make a "key out of molded plastic or aluminum to start it too. Any ideas for this part?
