Strange food combinations

So, I'm posting this because my GF thinks I'm a wierdo for drinking milk while eating pickles doesn't seem to strange to me.

Well I guess my question is this: what do you eat/drink/whatever that others might think a little strange?

i dont really eat anything weird, although i have a weird ramen noodle method i cook them normal, and once theyre done i drain all the water except a little bit so its mostly noodles and no soup

As far as ramen noodles go, I am about to reinvent them for you.  You will never be able to go back to your old way.

Instead of putting them in a pot and boiling them, put them in a frying pan with just enough water to nearly cover the top of the noodle block.  Pour in the seasoning.  Turn on the stove between med and med-hi, and fry them until all the water is cooked out and you're just frying the noodles.  From there it's just a matter of taste.  My wife takes them out immediately when the water is gone.  I cook mine a minute longer or so.  Now I'm not saying this should be served in a restaurant, but it makes Ramen at least five or ten times tastier.  

I break up graham crackers in a bowl and pour milk over them like cereal.  They get pretty soggy.

I used to dip peanut butter sandwiches in milk, but I don't really do that anymore.  I also used to dip tuna sandwiches in orange juice.  I don't do that anymore, but I still think that no beverage compliments a tuna sandwich as well as OJ.

That's all I can think of for now.

When I was younger I used to mix cream cheese, chocolate syrup and ketchup into a lovely paste. I had a friend who dared me to eat this horrible mess she had made once. It was toast with cheese, tomatoes, horseradish and jelly beans (layered in that order). She thought it would be very amusing, maybe make me throw-up, but I ended up really liking it... and perfecting the recipe.  Oh, and I drink pickle juice.

When I was in 5th grade we had to give a 'demonstration' on how to do a particular task.  The task was of our own choice.

The two class clowns, Kevin and Calvin, gave a demo on how to make a peanut butter, pickle and mayonaise sandwich.  They made it and ate it.  Most of the class went 'Ewww!'

A couple days later I decided to give it a try.  It's actually pretty good!  I haven't eaten one in years, though.  Perhaps I'll give it a try again soon.

One thing to note is I found the sandwich came out much better if you toasted the bread.  I also guess it would depend on what kind of bread you used.  I was using generic white bread, so I'm sure it was kind of mooshy.  Perhaps my next attempt will be with a nice wheat...

DUDE!!! I got that tuna and macncheese recipe froma friend that was in college. He said that the guys in his dorm used to eat that because it was CHEAP to make lol.  I LOVE it!!!   I also will add some crackers to it to give it a casserole effect. Its really good.

Why do I suddenly think all of you were posting fake pictures a while ago? I am guessing there are MANY MANY fat arcade machine makers around the world. But, since I'm here, I like peanut butter and banana sandwitches and I mix mayo and ketchup for fries and burgers. I also dip pizza in ranch and put ranch on burgers. As far as the mac & cheese, cook up some spam to go with it. The longer you cook it, the more it tastes like bacon. Good stuff.

I don't really have any, but shmokes, that ramen noodle thing - do you dump the seasoning packet on top of the noodles, or dump it in the frying water?  I'ma gonna give it a whirl later today.

My wife will mix ketchup with mayo (or if we're out of ketchup, I've seen her use straight mayo) and uses it for fries.  Also, my wife uses an UNGODLY amount of mayo when she decides to use it.  I've had sandwiches slide apart on the first bite that she's made....I've learned to ask for "a dab" of mayo, which usually ends up having as much as NORMAL people put on

Just thought of one, although from all indications, this isn't a strange combination in the South.

Best sammich EVAH - 1 Chick-fil-A.  Remove top bun.  Add one small Chick-fil-A cole slaw to the top.  Replace top bun.  En-diggety-joy!

I also now remember having the same thing sans chicken - a slaw sammich, with a slice of cheese on top

Now you guys have my taste buds watering for Chick-fil-A cole slaw!  I'm off to www.topsecretrecipes.com to dig up the dressing recipe again.

BTW, if anyone wants any Chick-fil-A recipes, I can give ya those....for the most part I can remember most of 'em.....but don't go asking me for the secret recipe.....Truett keeps a pretty tight lid on it, although I'll let ya in on a secret.  When we were running low, we'd pick up a few Sam's Club size boxes of Bisquick.

That's the thing, you can try WHATEVER you want with Ramen noodles, if you screw 'em up, you're only out your time, and 10 cents.  Stop going to those gourment froo-froo grocery stores and you'll find 'em for 10 cents.....with three kids, my wife and I STOCK UP when they have a sale on 'em and they're selling for between 5-7 cents!

I've heard of that Fluffer Nutter, but didn't know exactly what it is.  Doesn't sound strange[/b]  at all.  It's not like you're using relish instead of marshmallow fluff or anything.

Initial reaction before tasting - COMPLETE AND TOTAL MUSH.  Perhaps ¹/₂" of water will suffice for most non-mush loving folks.  Also, using the amount of water you say, shmokes, takes FOREVER and a day for the water to reduce.....I also threw in some olive oil to help with sticking, some basil and garlic in the beef Ramen.

More to come after tasting and eating - it's hot as all get out right now.

It DOES make it....not tastier, but kinda "concentrates" the flavor so that it's more noticeable....same flavor, but more of it. 

If you do NOT like eating mush, do NOT use as much water as shmokes advocates.  Try covering half the block, as when the water was about half gone, that's when they started to break up and become eatable as we all know 'em.

Knock yourself out with different seasonings doing it this way.  Just like the seasoning packet flavor gets more intense, so too do the other seasonings you throw in there.  I've got some roasted bell pepper & garlic seasoning I'm gonna try (along with FAR less water) in the next batch.  The basil and garlic were dynamite, as well. 

Make SURE when you follow the water instructions you're using a smaller frying pan, or reduce the water accordingly.  I used an 8", but I'll give my 7" a try with half the water next time.  Also, shmokes can testify whether or not I'll be correct, but I think if you DON'T put some form of oil/butter in there, the noodles may stick to the pan. 

The residue left in there when cooking it like this would make a DYNAMITE screw-hole filler for your cab - thus bringing this thread full circle and back to relating to our hobby

Hmmm...I loved "ants on a log" as a kid.  Carrot stick with cheeze whiz on top then coated with raisens.     The idea turns my stomach nowadays.

They don't use cheese, but Chick-fil-A makes a carrot & raisin salad.....swap the cheese for pineapple, and add some mayo......I HATE....and when I say HATE, it's just because it's the easiest way for you to comprehend the utter disgust I'm filled with when eating carrots.....carrots, but that stuff....I could eat it every day and twice on Sunday!  _{if they were open on Sundays}

Favorite Tabasco sauce recipe:
Gravy (real gravy from a dead chook), violently splashed with a plethora of Tabasco sauce and mopped up with garlic bread. It's the best and it's simple. You can try this at home kids.

  Heh....true that.  But I've seen it in person.  They get their fries from vendors on the street in big paper cones, kinda like what you see those glazed almonds served in during the holidays.  And on top the vendor will scoop an enormous scoop of mayo.  It's seriously revolting.

Hey shmokes, I'm getting it down to a science, and each time it's getting better, as you foretold.

Yesterday, I used 10 oz of water....just a touch more than a touch too much.  I'm a bit ill today, so the experiment will have to wait until the next "I'm hungry" day, but here's something for ya - I've only got Chicken Ramen left, and there is a spice that makes it OHSONICE!  McCormick's Big 'N Bold concoctions, it's the roasted garlic & (red?) bell pepper.....a shake of it on each side (4 shakes total, lest someone get cornfused) along with the seasoning packet. 

Also, BE SURE to use a non-stick pan, and add a shot or two of olive oil to prevent sticking/add flavor.

If'n yer feelin' REALLY saucy, add a dash or four of the Chipotle Tabasco.

I'm a-gonna try using 4 oz Riesling and 4 oz water next time.  After that, I'm gonna see what getting a life will do for me!


p.s.  My wife thinks I'm nuts cooking ramen this way, but what the heck does she know?  She's a mayo freak

3/4 cup mayonaise-ish (all measurements are ish because I just dalop the stuff until it looks right)
Tablespoon of red pepper sauce.  Use green for a change.
Tablespoon of ketchup
Few dashes of chili powder.

Stir until mixed, then use on frys, fish, whatever.

Anyways i remember once when i was a kid i made a Chips Ahoy cookie sandwich. Basically a bunch of chocolate chip cookies on white bread. Kind of weird.


Also all of these weird combinations makes me think of a food staple here in New Jersey. Anyone here ever been to the Grease Trucks at Rutgers. Man they do have some damnf fine sandwiches. Basically they throw a whole bunch of fried foods on a bun and give it a funny name. My personal favorite is a "Fat Darrell" which consists of chicken fingers, mozarella sticks, french fries, marinara sauce, all put onto a nice big roll. Damn that is good. They have a bunch of other crazy sandwiches but i cant think of em off the top of my head. Also if you manage to eat 3 of them in one sitting, you get to name and make your own sandwich that gets placed on the menu. A bunch of my friends go to Rutgers (i go to Seton Hall), so we usually go there for late night snacks. Anyone else in NJ ever been there?
