In an age of programmable TV's is this really needed?

http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2005-03-25-fox-blocker_x.htm

I mean, seriously, new TV's today, you have to auto-program the channels, and if you can do THAT, you certainly can figure out how to delete a certain channel from your list of availables, yes?

Here's the funniest part of the whole thing....this dude is just a money-hound at heart, and I salute him for being a darn clever one - nice marketing ploy!

"Kimery doesn't use the device himself; his remote is programmed to only a half-dozen channels. Plus he occasionally feels the need to tune into Fox News for something "especially heinous."

Actual tag-line used by fox news Chicago:

"can escalators kill your baby?--find out at 10:00"

I wouldn't miss that sort of fear mongering fluff journalism for anything ! :P
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

LOL     Now that is a dyi solution right there!

Maybe it's for those people who still have a dial to turn in order to change the channels on their television :D

I lucked out and got one of those VCRs that doesn't display the time.  ;D
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

What kind of luddite still uses a VCR?   :P

I don't want a FoxBlocker for myself.  I already don't watch it just fine (though is kinda cool that the company emails the names of all of it's customers to the companies who advertise on FoxNews).

I want to buy like 10 of these and surreptitiously install them on the TVs of my conservative friends.  God that would be funny.  Nobody troubleshooting the problem would ever guess where to look to figure out why just that single station wasn't working.  Maybe they'd be forced to get their news fix from CNN in the meantime and would be cured.....
