Neither one of those games is worth investing a NEW monitor in, so if we determine yours needs replacement, then go to google groups and post in the rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace newsgroup.

WTB: 19" monitor in (insert location here)

Hi, I am in need of a good working 19" monitor, I would prefer one local. I can pick it up, and will gladly trade in my non-working monitor towards it.

It should be around $50 or $75. More than $75 would be a rip off, especially if you are giving them your old broken monitor to repair.

You can also learn to repair your own monitors. I do sometimes, but USUALLY I only repair the ones that have SOME action, I usually just give the dead ones away to a buddy who enjoys monitor repair a bit more than I do.

BUCKETHEAD:
Thanks for the Info.

Where can you learn about Monitor repair?

I know these Games aren't worth investing a NEW monitor in.

But i will probably keep these Cabinets. They are in good shape.

I will still need a Monitor in the GLAX/HOGAN cab for whatever i decide to do with

it?

If the Monitor is indeed shot.

Thanks!

Thing is, if you MAME the Galaxian then maybe it WOULD be worth investing in a new monitor. Happ's Vision Pro II is only $160... (assuming it's still on sale)

BUCKETHEAD:
I really don't know what i am going to do with the Galaxian cabinet yet?

I would like to get the HOGAN'S ALLEY in it running.

Just for the thrill of getting it going!

Like i said you can hear the music,  Hear it Coin up , And even fire the gun off.

But no picture?

Like the Monitor is just dead. No power going to it.

Even the marquee bulbs light up.

Im not in that big of a hurry. So i will continue to tinker with it.

When time pemits ( SIGH )

Probably will even do the MONITOR trick that has been suggested.

Thanks for all you guys help and tips !

It has been very helpful !!

If the connectors are different then you will need to splice the wires, they SHOULD both have 5 wires. If you are lucky then they will be color coded in a logical manner which will allow you to figure out which one is which (one machine might have red, green, blue, black and brown, while the other might have white/red stripe, white/green stripe, white/blue stripe, black, and white).

Monitors normally have 5 wires going to them.
RED
GREEN
BLUE
ground
sync

If you can figure out the color wires on each monitor (they are often the same colors as the name, or have a stripe that color), once you figure out the color wires then you can simply try the other two wires both ways.

I had one machine once that had 5 white wires coming off the back of the monitor and I guessed my way through the whole thing!

Some monitors/machines have TWO sync wires. These have SIX wires instead of 5.

If you have SIX wires on BOTH monitors then follow the same idea.

If you have six on one and 5 on the OTHER then 2 wires get tied together, if you can figure out the colors then you can still do this by trial and error.
