My first experience with AI and tracing
« on: March 04, 2005, 10:19:12 am »
My GF is doing weight watchers and there's this thing called a "Points Slider" that does just that, slides and tells you the point value of your food.  Well, my sister wanted to do it also but in order to do it she either needs to be with my GF all the time so they can share a points slider or she needs one of her own.

Eager to learn how to trace things in Illustrator, I decided this would be a good starting point because it's mostly straigh lines and text!

It's not perfect becuase I don't know what font they used (most obvious with lower case "g") and the photograph of the slider was a little crooked but it's a start.

Here's my resluts so far:

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

the font is arial narrow... or something similar. Any of the old san serifs are probably close, like Helvetica, Helvetica Neue, New York, etc. The ugly lowercase G looks just like arial narrow.

No crap, don't put your kids in a real fridge.
