Great... I was testing out my prototype points and fried my Dreamcast port!

No, but I'm willing to accept a broken Dreamcast ;D

Sounds like you fried your F1 resistor.  Common mistake, easy to repair.

For future reference, always turn off the system and remove the controller before soldering to it. ;D

Oh, and would you stop using astriks and caps in your post titles?  I find them annoying.

AFAIK, there is only one F1 fuse/resistor.  (the blue one circled in the picture)
Test it with a meter.  If it reads infinite ohms (open circuit), it's bad.
Replace it with a 1A <10ohm resistor, a regular 1A fuse, or a circuit breaker.
You could just short it out, but it will fry the whole Dreamcast if you draw too much current

Thanks Trimoor, I got my Dreamcast working again and will hope to start working on soldering up my prototype CP, Do you know how to solder onto the analog sensors? I got sonic running once when i first tested it but it confuses me would you have to solder on 2 leads per sensor? and if so how do you acomplish this on such a small sensor? are there other places on the board that triggers to the same points?

please, If you or anyone you know... I have been bugging about this for a week or two and still have no idea on how to acomplish this task... -.-

Dude, I have been telling you to read the Console FAQ for the past 2 weeks.
http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_consoles.shtml#analog

There is a link to the dctojamma info page on how to hack the analog controls for the triggers.  You hack the analog thumb stick the same way (but 4 of the sensors).  This is assuming you are hacking the original sega pad.

Note: you may have to cut and paste this url into your browser as it looks like they don't like off site linking.

I understand where... but the 2nd wire confuses me... where do i ground it? and do i ground eevery wire that is used on the pad? (meaning two wires going from every sensor?) thats whats confusing me... -.-

You solder to the one sensor contact, thats it.  There should be ONE ground wire for the entire pad that you solder to that then gets chained around your control panel on the single player side (in daisy chain fashon) to each ground connections on the microswitches.  The other player side gets its ground from the other pad in a similar daisy chain fashon.

If im thinking this right, it should look like this? ummm.... (what exactly is daisy fashion?) and where do you ground it? im even more confused... is it grounded once than attached to each one of the joystick cherrys?

Im not too understanding.... I wired a buttons with 1 wire each going to the button to the cherry and another going from the button to th cherry and it seems to respond fast, but cant seem to get the same response for the joys

Running two wires per button back to your hacked pad is not needed.  Each button on your hacked pad has 2 contacts, the button contact, and the button ground.  All you need to wire is the button contact to the cherry microswitch.

Then for ground, just take ONE (pick any one you like on your hacked pad...they are all the same), and then run that to the very first cherry microswitch on your panel.  Then "chain" that wire around to all the other microswitches.  Here is a pic of my panel.  you can see the "dasiey chain" where one wire keeps looping to all the microswitches on a single player side.

Hope that explains it.

I think i understand... but where does it have to be grounded? anywhere at all on the pad? or anywhere where there is atleast one sensor?

All grounds on the pad are the same...be it on one of the button contacts, or the black ground wire coming from the cable...just choose whichever one is easiest to solder too.
