27" TV w s-vid input query?
« on: October 23, 2002, 10:14:14 pm »
Hi all,

I am looking at buying a new 27" (or 68cm) TV which has s-video for the cab.  Only problem is I think the s-video input is on the front panel and not at the rear.

If I go for this I will probably need to get a new s-video plug which is a flat type plug end.  Do these type of plug ends exist for s-video (I know they do for rca cables)?  Also did anyone else have this problem of s-video input only in the front?

This TV is about AU$400 which is the cheapest I've seen around town as they normally start at $550 w/o s-video.  The other concern about the tv is the width as it has speakers facing forward either side of the screen.  I'll just need to measure it up.  It's very hard to find tv's here in Perth that are reasonably sized with s-video and speakers in the best place to keep the width down.

So if you have any tips - bring them on.  And anyone in the land down under that knows where to get right priced tv's let me know.

Cheers

well.....why would it matter even if the s-video is in the front?

You can just put a distance between the tv scree and you front monitor glass.

I wasn't sure if the cable would interfere with the bezel.  Got the tv anyway and the front inputs are recessed enough not to be a problem.  Looks like I now know how wide the cab is going to be.
