I thought that she ws the first monarch to actually decide Ireland needed to be conquered and commit the resources?  I'm definitely not very informed when it comes to the Cromwell years.  I really didn't get much of an Irish (or English) history education growing up in America.

An arrest warrant for war crimes was saught when he visited here last year but the courts wouldn't grant it. Besides, they could face up to their blood soaked heritage and offer reparations to the relatives of those who suffered and died to swell their fortune. Something that would hardly dent their wealth but show humanity they have a shread of decency. Junior doesn't have to worry about re-election next time so he could make this gesture without it affecting his political career (a term I use loosely)

The apple from tree thing refers to the fact the bushes are still profiteering from war. It does not attempt to 'tie' junior with his grandads crimes.

OMG!!! I just realized that a couple people in my family tree of thousands were murderers and rapists.

Ireland is the size of Illinois, it's people have been at war and killing each other for 100s of years.  Half of it's people hate the other half.  It's no wonder that half of it's people could hate one man.
