What to load in the juke/favorite music
« on: January 17, 2005, 11:53:02 pm »
Note, I put this here rather than in the juke forum because it is essentially a "favorite music" thread, and thus can see input from people who know nothing about jukeboxes.

I am doing an mp3 based refit of an old Rockola 446.

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,30651.0.html

But, what to load on it? It will be set up for 80 artists with 2 songs per artist. Here are some I want to put on it for sure, any other suggestions.

No, I really like Aqua. Look at my list carefully, I also like a few similar acts as well.

Nice, nice. Artist and specific title suggestions are much better than just artist suggestions.

I only have 80 slots ( 2 songs each), so I won't be duplicating any artists, just 2 songs per artist.

ok, drew and paige are playing 'spot the odd one out' so it's my turn:

planet earth, hungry like the wolf- duran duran

back in black, jail break- ac/dc

ace of spades, killed by death- motorhead

the stroke, she goes down- billy squire

ave maria, white rose of athens- nana mouskouri

the message, white lines- grandmaster flash

breaking the law, painkiller- judas priest

private investigations, telegrah road- dire straights

ten points for the first correct answer!

edit: oops, TWO per singer. fixed! still only ten points...

AND I could go with Billy Squire, as he's the only one on the list to look REMOTELY like you, thereby BANNING him from most jukeboxes.   ;)

AND AND I could go with Nana Mouskori, and your original song (singular), although some say Lemmy isn't singing in English either.   ;D

lesson now in pommie terminology! the odd one out was nana mouskouri cos she's the only 'naff' performer in the list! just like your joke entries 'aqua' and 'third day' who i havent heard of but the titles sound naff  ;D

gg's 'ace of base' get's an honourable mention for 'naffness'  :)
well, that's enpugh naffness for one night. i'm just gonna pop some boney m in the 8-track...

So I actually should get THIRTY points.  Ten for the correct answer (although not the same reasoning) and ten more for each ADDITIONAL correct answer (again, due to my reasoning).

That makes ME the weiner......er.......winner!  :-\

Third Day -
Think Travis Tritt meets Lynyrd Skynyrd and they're all "saved".  Pretty good listen even if you're not into "that kind" of music.

And the Newsboys - danny, they're from your side of the globe.....heard of 'em?
