Hey everyone - please keep the avatars (and comments thereof) PG13 - not PG, they can be PG13, but no more than that please

My rule of thumb is easy. If you have a question if it's appropriate, then it's not appropriate.

While we are on the subject of avatars:

The pic I used for my avatar is alot bigger than it is coming up on the board. I thought the board would just resize it to the max allowed size. But i see some people have larger ones. Would it be bigger if I resized it myself? If so, what is the current max, 80x90?

Also, I see some people with pics in their sig. But I didn't see an option for pics in the sig? How would I get a pic in my sig?

Thank you for bringing this up. I've noticed that some of the avatars are inappropriate. Even though my wife trusts me, I don't need to have her seeing some of these sexual avatars with hot women and/or cleavage. The image also gets stored on our hard drives due to web browser cache. Not to mention the file size for these animated gifs are way too big. Most forums put an image size AND file size restrictions on the avatars, but it appears your file size is currently unlimted.

Peale, I'm especially suprized at you. You are a forum moderator and should act like one and set a good example.

While I understand your concern, you are not without recourse here. The old saying about "if you don't like it, change the channel" is so appropriate here.

Did I just tell you to go somewhere else on the net? Certainly not.

Careful perusal of your profile and the options available to you will find an option to turn off images from other users, thereby solving your problem and making the board a mostly rated G site (unless you read certain threads.....again, "change the channel" to a different thread there)

Peale hasn't posted anything that wouldn't be allowed air time on your local TV channels. While daring, you aren't without options to solve your issues.

If you're using Firefox (which 100% of the world's geek population should be by now) all you have to do is right-click on the offending avatar and select "Block images from...". Provided the avatar isn't hosted by forum.arcadecontrols.com, you should be laughing.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with my avatars, IMNSHO. I haven't shown anything awful yet. A little risque, sure, but I'm not serving (nor would I) hardcore pr0nography. Heck, they're not even *naked!*

Other than my avatars, I don't think my behaviour has been inappropriate on this forum (and I don't think they're inappropriate, either). If anyone does, please speak up.

Truely, if your wife sees these avatars (either mine or Magnet Eye's) remind her that this hobby is 99% male oriented, and occasionally guys oogle hot chicks.

Also, I find it odd that saint would want all the avatars PG-13:

Well, the point was that PG-13 was OK, I wasn't demanding that everyone have Bambi, Thumper and Flower as their avatars. Now, I personally *like* Disney characters so that'd be fine by me, but they don't have to be PG if you prefer PG-13... Just nothing over PG-13 please.

I have no problem with the avatars. In my area, you see that type of thing everywhere here in California - real or fake. I don't see how it will affect family values or cause marital stress. If you do, with all due respect, the problem lies deeper than just looking at small PG or PG-13 images at BYOAC. I am not saying that one should be forced to look at such images, but just filter at your discretion.

Actually, Sir Woogie just put a change into effect that constrains *all* avatars to 80x80, so I can't do any more like the pretty stripping girl, or they get all funny-looking.
