I havent played it either Chad, but have been tempted to buy some metal dance pads and implementing it into my cabinet.  I have some DDR titles on the way and they should tell me if I like it or not heh.

I would have, but don't have AIM at work anymore, so this is the place to ask.  I knew you'd chime in when you saw it.   ;)

So, then, I could count on you to slip me some of those simfiles, yes?  I've been having trouble finding a decent source.

I have StepMania set up too. I got the 5 gig mega pack and it's great. I also scored some really cheap pads and a playstation to USB converter for like, 15 bucks on ebay.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

Only some of those work... the 1-8 mix, but the rest are all dead torrents.  It is more than enough to keep me busy, though, and I have some stuff preoccupying me at the moment.

Is there a Stepmania for the Dreamcast?  That would make this a lot easier for me in the short term.

I have Stepmania and people love it at parties.

Basically you need:
2 - cheap PS2 mad-catz dance pads
1 - USB PS2 adapter

I too have a full set of Stepmania courses.  But I made my own set of songs to play at parties.  Because 80% of the songs are songs that I've never heard of or they are way to hard.

Once you get good Stepmania and and can 4+ level songs, I would rememend metal pads as the cheap ones then to side around during songs that require quick footwork.

Well, I can clear level 3 songs now without trouble... sometimes on level 4, sometimes not.

Nearly all of the torrent files I've tried to use are defunct.  will keep trying.

Buy pads?  Why?  They are easy to build.
I built one based on these plans: http://www.geocities.com/ddrhomepad/

If you have an IPAC or something, you don't even need to hack a controller, you just wire it into the IPAC.

good ole bittorrent of course

http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?query=stepmania

BitTorrent seems stuck. Its at 75.4% ands been that way for over an hour. What causes this? Should I wait or Ctrl-Alt-Del it? Will it eventually resume?

What does Connected to 8 peers mean?

It means those 8 people are connected, but none of you have any parts of the file that none of the other people have.  You have to wait for someone with more parts of the torrent to connect.

Thanks Chad, so can I assume that someone has all the parts to this Torrent? I guess I could wait forever to get all the parts I need...right? Is there a way to find out if all the parts for a Torrent are available at the time I start downloading it? Sorry for all the questions, as you can tell, I'm new to this...

Sounds like you have a grasp of the concept.  The seeders are people who have the full file and are sharing.  If there are no seeders, there is no way to tell if there is a cumulative full torrent out there among the leechers.  Your best bet is to just leave it running and wait.  Low traffic torrents can take quite a while sometimes.
