Invalid Directory with ArcadeOS
« on: November 28, 2004, 11:03:52 pm »
Alright, I got everything set up with froogles CD (I think that's the name) Auto formated and put mame and arcadeos on my drive. Then made it so when the PC starts, ArcadeOS starts up. it's all awesome and works perfect. but when I goto add any ROMs. I use the built in thing that coppies from any drive or removable drive (CD, Floppy). It works but I see it flash "INVALIDE DIRECTORY" across the bottum. Then none of my new ROMs show up.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a ton!

I don't think I ever got it to work properly.  What I do it copy the ROMs to the ROM dir manually, then delete all .lst and .rm* files.  Run AOS again, and it'll rebuild your list.

Quite likely, a lot of people know.  Do a Google search on DOS commands, start there.  The one you're looking for, at the mo, is 'copy.'

Here is the easiest way to copy the roms in Dos.

1)goto the mame roms directory ex) cd\mame\roms

2) you need to know what directory the roms are in that you want to copy. So if your cd is D: and your directory is roms your path would be d:\roms

3) Copy the files. With the information above you would type from the mame roms folder Copy d:\roms\*.* you should then see the file names scroll up the screen. When done type dir  if everything went alright you should see the names of the files fly up the screen. If not retry the above steps.

Hope this helps and makes sense. I am very sleepy at the monemt.
I never thought I'd own an arcade machine. Now I have 4!!!
