My question is why we let criminals play video games in prison anyways. <insert sarcastic tone here> Hell if thats what goes on in there i may just get arrested myself so I can play games all day and not have ot work.<sarcasm over>

Wouldn't that be considered inhumane treatement of prisoners?  That'd fall under cruel and unusual punishment, which a lawyer is just WAITING to jump on.

I severely doubt Playstation was having any negative effects on the prisoners, no matter how "violent" the games were.

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

No, that's just sick. Cruel and unusual would be making them play a video game involving the Tron guy. (I'm sure someone's made one by now)
Now in a tasty new flavour.

pehaps the state is worried they'll try to use the "it was the video games fault" defense to get out of their life sentence...

It's funny, but over a year ago there was a big deal about Regal Cinemas pulling all violent games out of their theater lobbies. House of the Dead 2 was singled out as the biggest offender. All the Regal Cinemas in my area still have these games.

They say video games make you reinact what's in them; hell, I say put House of the Dead in every movie theater. When all the zombies come back to eat us it'll be those who deprived our youth of proper undead-defense training that will be to blame.

I hate when people pull that, "because of the game", or whatever.  People are always looking to blame someone.  Beavis and Butthead can't say "fire", because they did once and some kid started a fire.  Maybe the kids parents should have taught him better.  When I was in high school, some kid commited suicide while listening to an Ozzy song.  I forget the name but everyone said it was about killing your self.  If you listened to the words, it was saying that if you are a drinker, you are killing yourself.  I don't know how many thousands of kids were lsitening to that, but one kid has problems and they blame the song?  Is it just me, but when kids screw up, does it seem like poeple look for anyone or anything to blame instead of the parents???    Violent games are just fun to normal people.  If someone that already has problems plays the same game, all of a sudden it's a bad game?

And yet you haven't.   Maybe you should ask yourself why you have not tried to deliberately get incarcerated.  Think about it for about 30 seconds.  And then come back and erase your post out of embarrasment.
