Connecting BNC?
« on: November 24, 2004, 01:31:43 pm »
Both of my monitors have BNC connectors... I know the pinouts and such and that the best way is probably to cut the VGA cord from a dead monitor and use that... but what I don't know yet is how you attach the BNC connectors to the wires.  Is it a crimp or something else?    ???

Not worth the trouble or buying the connectors yourself.

Found these on pricewatch.

Unless you have a few bnc connectors laying around this will be much cheaper.

Hey, very nice... too bad I can't get them for work over the Thankgiving break.   :(

How can I confirm that the pinouts are what I need?  One of the monitors is rgb and the two syncs, the other is rgb and composite.

If its listed as a VGA (15pin male) to BNC connector - I don't belive there is any issue with incorrect pinouts. ie all VGA sockets are the same in terms of which pin is RGB and H and V sync.

Yeah... after taking a good look at the 50" monitor, as well as the 27", I ended up ordering a pair of VGA-> 4 BNC cables.  I had remembered the big monitor as separate syncs but it's not... we'll see how it works out.

I may end up hacking some consoles for RGB as well, so ordering more of those suckers would probably be my best bet.
