Scrolling on an arcade monitor. Pleasse help/ desperate!!

I have been trying to get my monitor to stop scrolling. I am using a standard resolution wells gardner 27' monitor with arcade vga.  I sautered my connections to the input of the monitor because i didnt have a connector.  I can get picture and the windows bootscreen looks great in color and everything. When it comes to the welcome screen and the desktop the color looks really bad.  Also (this is the big problem) the screen scrolls verticaly. I have made sure my vertical sync connections were good and they were. I have tried adjusting my v hold on the control board and it makes it scroll slower but I still cant get it to stop completely. I am running windows xp.  Please help me guys i need you!! Thanks,

There should be a switch (or jumper?) on your monitor PCB which switches between HV Sync and Composite Sync, depending on which way you have it hooked up (The video cable). I had the same problem when I started as well. First adjust it so it doesn't roll too much and try switching it. The image should then just snap into place.

"sautered?"  Do you mean "soldered?"  You really should have invested in a connector.

As for your rolling, have you tried adjusting the refresh rate?  Or does this matter on an AVGA?

I think bosss7 hit on the head--it sounds like you have the wrong sync cables connected.

I think i have found the jumper that you are talking about.  Does it have 2 wires coming out of it (blue and yellow) that is connected directly by the yoke of the monitor? If that is totally wrong can you tell me what it looks like? I appreciate greatly for all the help you guys are giving me.

I just read my other post and dont think i said the above correctly. It is a conector on the pcb that has 2 wires coming out of it (i think it says vent ture) and the wires connect by the yoke of the monitor. There thats a bit more descriptive. Thanks

I have tried to reverse two connectors on the monitor pcb... One turned the picture upside down, the other mirrored the image horizontaly. I have not been able to find the jumper/switch that you were talking about above. Is it possible that my screen resolution on my computer could cause the slow scrolling? Please help.

ok those two wires you are fiddling with are your horizontal and vertical input lines to the tube--leave them alone!  the connectors you need to be concerned about are the ones where the red green blue input lines come in--i'm not familiar with the 27" version so i can't say where that is--at any rate in that plug-in (the same as the RGB) there are horizonatl and vertical + and - sync wires--coming into the arcadevga there should should aslo be a sync line--you have to attache the sync line coming out of the arcadevga to the appropriate sync or syncs on your monitor.  this may mean you have to combine H- and V- by twisting them together and then attaching that to the output of the avga.

On the monitor input I have the v  ( from the arcadevga breakeout cable) to the v sync conection on the monitor. I also have the h (from the arcade vga  cable) to the h sync on the monitor.  There is something on the monitor input that says: vsync (comp).  Does this mean that I need to put both h and v sync on that?  I thought that you could either put the sync's on seprate or you could put them together, do they have to be together? I hope that makes sense.

you can mix and match your syncs until you find the combo that works--make sure you are only mixing and matching sync lines though    On my wells gardner K7191 its H- and V- from the monitor connected to the comp sync from the avga

Sorry, Bosss7 was right. The v sync and the h sync needed to be placed on the v sync (comp) input. I appreciate it.
