Frontends without individual game control setup?
« on: November 24, 2004, 01:46:11 pm »
Are there any frontends similar to MAME that do not require individual game control setup for every game (where you can set them up all at once)?  Thanks.

What do you mean? I use mame with mamewah. I have not had to configure anything for the games, they just work. How are you controlling the games? Are you using your keyboard? If you are using a control panel, how have you mapped the keys?

Mame has a default for what keys perform each command in mame, ie. player1_button1, player1_button2, etc. etc.

Can you clarify?

I just wired up my ipac/4 on a mock up of my control panel, and the ipac has connections for each control, set to the default mame key codes. So you just wire it up, plug it in, and launch a mame game. It works flawlessly. I shudder to think how much of a pain it would be to configure all those games, one at a time.
