Win98 in "Pure Dos Mode"...is USB available??

I know nothing about win98 in pure dos mode, or even what "pure dos mode" means.  Does that mean usb devices are recognized?  I need USB support for a steering wheel/pedal combo, but I have an arcade monitor.  The ongoing research in "windows on an arcade monitor" is moving along, but I was wondering if pure dos mode might be what I'm looking for.  Can anyone offer any info on this?

I don't believe so... no USB in pure dos mode, sorry...
