Powering your cabinet
Craig:
How does everyone get power to their cabs? I made a small wall plate with an IEC socket and switch for mine but dumped that idea because it was too ugly. I don't really want to just have a mains cable running from a hole in the cab. Any ideas on what to do?
terrahwk:
During the design of my cabinet I was always intending to use a flush mains power socket. Umm.. sorta like this one:

Maybe look at caravan/camper trailer stores?
In the end I just ended up with a mains cable running from a hole in the cab. ;)

Yeah, I'd have to say, no matter how you dress it up, it's going to basically be a cble coming out of a hole in the cab :)
I know my jamma cab has a metal plate that is inset into the wood, and knotted behind the metal plate so it doeesn't get pulled out, but with a home cab,m theres just not much of a point since you probly won't have people beating the crap out of your cab and pulling it around your living room by the cord....
Craig:
What have others done?

used one of these. forgotten what it was from, a dead monitor or something. i had to make the hole a bit bigger to fit it though but underneath a cocktail it doesnt matter
