Getting snaps to appear in mamewah
« on: July 22, 2004, 06:04:05 pm »
I have been sitting here fooling with mamewah for an hour trying to get my snaps to appear. I have a layout were it only shows screenshots so I put the path of the screenshots(c:\mame\snap) in all the artwork paths. But they wont show up. The files are png.

- Check if the artwork path you added is the one on the layout. Remember that you can have up to 10 ...

I'm haveing the same problem.

I had it working on one computer, but ever since I transferred everything(mame folder and mamewah folder) it doesn't show the snaps. I'm thinking I need to unzip the snaps folder on this computer, but I deleted it...

You need to reinstall mamewah, as when you run in the installer it copies system files in place.

try downloading the system files from the mamewah website

Should the snaps remain zipped?  I have no snaps displaying either. :(

I need to d/l the latest version.

What are the chances of MameWah using zip fiiles for Snaps etc? The reason I ask is that CLRMAME needs the pictures to be in zip files to work with the DAT files that are supplied. So it ends up that I have two copies of all of the pictures, one zipped and one not.

This is not a big deal but perhaps there is another way to do this.

Cheers.

Chances are slim atm, since I've no idea how to do it  ???

I realised the other day that ClrMAME requires images zipped with the DAT files (I've never ClrMAME'd my snaps before).  All I did was zip them up, run ClrMAME, then unzip again and delete the zip.

I'll probably take a look into it at some point, but it's not top priority atm...

I'm stuck..

I deleted  mamewah then downloaded it again plus the system files and installed them. I still can't get the snaps to show.

It all works on the computer I originally installed it on. I transferred the mamewah and mame folder to two other computers and I can't get the snaps to work for them. Is there some files in the windows folder or something that I need transferred to?

Yes, transferring the \mamewah folder alone is not enough.  You need to install the system files on *all* PC's you want to use MAMEWAH on.  The system files need to be installed & registered...

Yatta! I'm happy now, it works.

The last time I installed the system files, it wasn't in the same folder as mamewah, so that's why it didn't work. I assume.

Well the system files are automatically installed into the \Windows\System32 folder when you run setup.bat, so they don't need to be in \mamewah...

Glad it works anyway!
