Updating Mamewah and Mame
« on: September 08, 2004, 04:51:19 pm »
I've been running an older version of NoNameMame and Mamewah that are a few months old.  Well I looked today and I see there is a new MAME update that supports a couple games I've been waiting for and a newer version of Mamewah as well.

I was going to install it along side my current setup in case there are any issues, but is there anything I should watch out for?  Shouldn't my current ROM set transfer over and work correctly?

I've read a few things about older ROM sets not working with newer versions of MAME, if this is the case is there any simple way to fix them?

Any feedback or help would be appreciated.

How old is your rom set?  I ran into some issues back in like .77 but haven't going from .82 to .86

Use ClrMAMEPro or RomCenter to fix your roms...you might have to re-obtain a few too...

Well so far I've just updated MAME but left Mamewah alone for now.  I've only run into a couple ROMs that didn't work right so I just nabbed the new ones and all is good.  I'll keep tinkering as I go along.   I'm just extremely happy to be able to play Virtua Fighter.
