ATI Dongle question
«
on:
September 02, 2004, 05:15:34 pm »
Hello, I read the entire thread about using the ATI dongle with a component TV. One question that I could not find an answer to, which dongle do you use with a NON-HDTV component connection? VGA or DVI to component?
Thanks,
Southpaw

I think it depends on which model ATI card you're using. And that model is...?

Not purchased yet! I was thinking of getting the DVI one because I could then run two monitors if needed (assuming the card I buy has support for two monitors).
The specs on both dongles look identical so I am going to assume that it really doesn't matter which one I get.

I don't think so. This site has all the info you need.

Hmmm... I don't think I really answered your question.
You *can* use the HDTV adapter with a regular TV that has component in (and a compatible ATI video card), but don't plan on running the resolution over 640 x 480. Actually, more like 640 x 432 if you're counting pixels.

Thanks, I got all that stuff from the last thread. I was just interested in the adapter. However, the FAQ tells you which dongle to buy...
Thanks,
