mamewah launch pc games
« on: August 15, 2004, 01:09:42 am »
Im running winXP and am trying to get mamewah to launch pc games. I did everything the reademe says , set emulator executable to 'PC' and then put the rom path ffolder as a folder with batch files leading to my game executables (tried it with shortcuts as well).

But everytime i try and refresh my games list it gives me a path file error 75 message. I cannot figure this out, is there some other settings i must configure in the cfg. My mame setup runs perfectly but i cannot get pc apps/games to work. Can someon help me?

Also is there a way to make my pc games show up in the same list as my mame games in mamewah?

Firstly you *must* use shortcuts (LNK files).  If you enter 'PC' as your Emulator Executable from within the Options menu, it will setup the other stuff for you automatically (bar ROM Path of course).

ATM you cannot get PC games to show in the same list as MAME :(

i started cleanly once again and i  t is still giving me teh same error. When i go to refresh the games list i get the "run time error 75 path/file error".

I have it set up exactly how it should be but i cannot get it to show my games. Whats the deal here?

Sorry I really don't know - I don't recall seeing this problem before  :(

As the problem occurs when you try to refresh the list, make sure the List Gen. Method is on 'ROM Folder Only'.  If the problem still occurs or you've already done this, please try my next release if you can - bugfixing will then be my top priority...

No worries, but that's why I said enter 'PC' within the Options Menu - it sets all the other options like List Gen. Method up for you...

Are they .PIF shortcuts?  If so, make Windows (LNK) shortcuts to the PIF's, and then try again.

...back again.

Well i got the game to show up in the menu but i never tried to run it. I only have one pc game that i am running and its NFL Blitz. When i click it to run it syas loading nfl blitz and locks up right there.

Then i have to ctrl alt del out and it says mamewah is not responding. I dont know if it has anything to do with when you launch nfl blitz it launches a window first where you must configure it.

Also couple other questions for anyone with the pc version of blitz. In the options menu there is now way to map ctrl or alt as a button. Also when i try to map shift it never works becauase i think its confused between right and left shift. Is there any way around this?> Also how do you get around the exit question of Y/N in blitz while using just a control panel. Is there anyway to disable the y/n question?>

Set Show DOS Box to 'Yes'.
