haveing problems with ipac.

I finally got my first testing control panel done. It works, the buttons, etc do everything.
It messes up though. Either my keyboard will stop working or the ipac will stop working, the buttons don't do anything.
Anyone know what can be causing this?

Could be as simple as a loose ps2 / usb cable. If you start up the ipac configuration utility when it fails, can you see the animated movements at all on the screen (you know push right and the joystick graphic moves right)
Could also try checking the jumper.
Have you contacted Ultimarc yet? Andy is awesome.

I don't know what the ipac configuration utility is. I probably tryed installing it, but it gave me an error.
I know it's not a lose usb port. It works everytime I restart and after a little while, it just stops working, everytime.

On this board we have had sooooo many people who have said "I know it's not ......." and it turned out to be just that. I would suggest rechecking your USB connection. Then check your wiring to the I-PAC. Also go into the windows control panel and open up system and click the device manager tab to see if the I-PAC is still listed as being connected to the computer. Also what program are you testing your control panel with? Have you tried to see how it works in Notepad?

It lists it as unknown device with an x on it.
I am using usb port and I have the usb pin covered with the jumper.
I tested it with notepad and mame. I types letters in notepad and it punches/kicks in mame... When it works.

i think goz has a point there.. i dont think there is a usb jumper, especially on the newer boards.
"The board automatically detects which interface it is connected to (USB or PS/2)."
lots of useful info on the ultimarc website. you might wanna check the LED error codes as well..
