good ps2 games (in general)
« on: August 10, 2004, 06:57:06 pm »
I'm looking for games that aren't available on other consoles. They don't have to be for an arcade cab

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Ico is IMO the best game for any of the current consoles, but is definitely not for everyone. Read the reviews and see if it sounds like your kind of game.

War of the Monsters is good, clean, Rampage inspired multiplayer fun for the whole family.
Look. This... is all a mistake. I'm just a compound interest program. I work at a savings and loan! I can't play these video games!

While I love the first 2 games in each of those series, the third games aren't even out yet, so I don't see how you could recommend them.

I'll second ICO.... the most under-rated game ever on PS2.

Gran Turismo 3
Eye Toy is cool for parties/groups... not quite a game though, more of a bunch of minigames
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
Klonoa 2
Final Fantasy X and X-2 if you're into RPGs
Frequency/Amplitude (not sure if they are exclusive)
Dark Cloud 2

I can't think of any more right now, but there are a lot of great PS2 only games.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

he did not ask for recommendations, he asked for exclusives, they are certainly exclusives. and i beleive will be good games.

well the title of the thread is "GOOD ps2 games" which implies he wants exclusives that are also good... therefore, he wants to know what people think of the games ;)

If you're willing to invest in the controllers, Beatmania IIDX is awesome, as well as Pop'n Music. Pop'n had some earlier releases on PS1 and DC, but all the new mixes worth owning are for PS2. Both are music sims with a similar concept to DDR, but you play with your fingers/hands. Both are quite a bit more difficult than DDR as well. I've been playing IIDX regularly for about 6 weeks now, and I'm just now starting to pass the medium difficulty songs.
